Experience as production head
From April 2006 - April 2007 I ran DU Filmmakers, a student filmmaking society with 400 members. With a 9 person committee I initiated and oversaw productions, as well as helping to organize events, and expand the equipment kit. Under my leadership, we managed to turn things around for the society, trebling production numbers and initiating a number of new and innovative events.
These included two events I conceived personally, and were developed by the committee - ‘Boot camp’ which sought to train new students from scratch to crew members in 3 weeks. And ‘I want to score’ where silent films were paired with original scores which were performed live.
At the end of the year I was nominated as society person of the year, and the society was nominated for best medium society.
Education:
2-1 BA in Film Studies and English degree in Trinity College, Dublin.
To graduate I wrote a 12,000 word thesis examining the technique of Wes Anderson
9 week film production course in filmbase covering all the basics of each crew position.
6 years in Belvedere College, Dublin where I got 545 points in the leaving, and was awarded a medal for excellence in Classical studies.
